Successful integration into AFG’s Window and Door Division
EgoKiefer and RWD Schlatter continue to grow their core business
ARBON, 30 novembre 2007. - With the takeover of RWD Schlatter AG at the beginning of 2007, AFG Arbonia-Forster-Holding AG markedly expanded the door business of its Window and Door Division.
Following RWD Schlatter AG’s successful integration, AFG’s door manufacturing competencies are now concentrated in Roggwil TG. By continuing to focus on their core business, EgoKiefer and RWD Schlatter are laying the groundwork for the further development of their market positions.

Expansion of production capacities
An important step in the integration process was already made in the summer 2007, when EgoKiefer moved its interior door production from Altstätten SG to RWD Schlatter’s facilities in Roggwil TG. All of the Division’s interior door expertise can now be found at RWD’s headquarters in Roggwil. The space EgoKiefer gained at its headquarters in Altstätten is being used for the much needed expansion of the production capacity for wood and wood/aluminum windows. The new installations will become operational at the start of 2008. In tandem with the expansion in Altstätten, EgoKiefer is also upgrading its plant in Villeneuve. The need to add production capacity flows from the success of EgoKiefer’s new, awardwinning XL® vinyl windows. The new installations in Villeneuve will become operational in November 2007.Focus on core business
By combining their door production in Roggwil TG, EgoKiefer and RWD Schlatter now have a solid base for adapting their sales organizations consistently to the needs of the market. To continue developing the position of the Division on the Swiss windows and door market, both companies will continue to focus on their core business. RWD Schlatter now represents all of AFG’s interior door business interests and by taking over EgoKiefer’s part of that business has strengthened its presence in all regions of Switzerland, but especially in Western Switzerland and Tessin. Given the top of the line product range of RWD, this should create additional benefits for our customers and market opportunities for AFG. EgoKiefer will focus on windows and front doors. By investing in the expansion of production capacity and decentralizing the sales organization, EgoKiefer will be able to grow its market leadership.Optimal exploitation of synergy potential
The leading market position of the Window and Door Division with its EgoKiefer brand will get a substantial boost thanks to the takeover and integration of RWD Schlatter AT, Number 1 on the door market. The integration process took full advantage of the considerable synergy potential and will considerably facilitate the international expansion of the Division.Download:
